About Us

Mission

The Graduate Institute of Integrated Medicine was founded in 1999 and has offered the master and doctoral degree programs since 1999 and 2012 respectively. Our institute enrolls students who have graduated from universities recognized by the Ministry of Education with majors in Chinese medicine, medicine, post-bachelor Chinese medicine or medicine, or dentistry and hold practice licenses of Chinese medicine, medicine or dentistry. The goal of our institute is to enhance the students’ profession as well as foster their teaching ability and research capacity in integrated medicine.  
Educational Objectives

Mater program

  1. To promote the clinical expertise of Integrative Medicine.
  2. To cultivate the teaching personnel with basic and clinical knowledge of Chinese and Western medicine.
  3. To enhance the research ability of Chinese and Western medicine pre-clinical or clinical trials.

Doctoral program

  1. To cultivate the teaching and research leader in clinical integrated Chinese and Western Medicine.
  2. To cultivate the teaching and research leader with basic and clinical knowledge of Chinese and Western medicine.
  3. To cultivate the teaching and research leader in the area of Chinese and Western medicine pre-clinical or clinical trials.

Characteristics

Our institute is the first and the only graduate institute which integrates the theory and practice of the Chinese and western medicine in Taiwan. Therefore, it becomes our responsibility to promote the essence of Chinese medicine and integrate it with western medicine to achieve interoperability. It is hoped that in the future a new system of medicine will be established.

Chronicle of Events (Milestones)

1999 Graduate institution of integrated medicine was established in 1999 and as the first and the only graduate institution which integrated the theory and practice of the Chinese and western medicine. Dr. Shung-Te Kau served as the first director in 1999. 
2000 Dr. Chuang-Wei Chen served as the second director of institution from 2000 to 2002.
2003 Dr. Kua-Juei Lin served as the third director of institution from 2003 to 2005.
2006 Dr. Wen-Chi Chen served as the fourth and fifth director of institution from 2006 to 2011.
2009 The graduate institute of Integrative medicine was site-visited for program evaluation by Higher education evaluation and accreditation council of Taiwan (HEEACT) on May 18 and 19, 2009 and the result was accredited.
2012 Dr. Ching-Liang Hsieh served as the sixth director of institution since 2012.
2014 Institute of the 102 school year internal self- evaluation on May 16. 
2015 Institute of the 103 school year external self- evaluation on May 15.
